Guitarist Carlos Santana Postpones Las Vegas Residency Due To Broken Finger Suffered In “Hard Fall”
Guitar icon Carlos Santana has postponed the next run of his 2025 Las Vegas residency due to an “accidental fall” that left him with a broken finger.
The fall occurred at Santana’s vacation home in Kauai, Hawaii, said Michael Vrionis, President, Universal Tone Management, in a statement today. The guitarist was scheduled to begin the next run of shows at Vegas’ House of Blues at Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino on January 22.

“I am sorry to say that Carlos was out taking a walk at his vacation home in Kauai,” Vrionis said. “He took a hard fall, and he broke his little finger on his left hand. He had to have pins inserted in the finger. Unfortunately, he won’t be able to play guitar for approximately six weeks. Doctors do say that he will recuperate fully.”
Vrionis added, “Carlos is doing well and is anxious to be back on stage soon. He just needs to heal. Santana profoundly regrets these postponements of his upcoming performances, but accidents happen, and his health is our number one concern. He is looking forward to seeing all of his fans very soon.”
Eight shows of the residency through February 2 have been postponed, with tickets for those performances to be honored at the rescheduled dates.
Santana had already been scheduled to return to the House of Blues for eight show in May; those shows have not been postponed.
Beginning in April, Santana will tour North America, with shows in, among other places, Phoenix, San Antonio and Nashville. Go here to see full tour itinerary for North America and a subsequent Europe and UK dates.
