Erin McGregor married in high style!

Erin — who is the sister of MMA fighter Conor McGregor — tied the knot with singer-songwriter Terry Kavanagh on Aug. 17, 2024, with a lavish wedding at the Cashel Palace Hotel in Tipperary, Ireland, joined by 135 friends and family members.

For the longtime couple, their nuptials were all about celebrating "their happily ever after" with the people "nearest and dearest" to them. They carefully planned every detail of their special event to reflect their love story and the family they have created together. Erin and Terry share an 8-year-old son, Harry, as well as Erin's 24-year-old daughter, Taylor, from a previous relationship.

"We wove the most beautiful and significant parts of our lives into this day, each in its own unique way," Erin told PEOPLE, adding, "To us, getting married means completing our family, the final link in our unbreakable chain."

Sealed with a Kiss

Erin and Terry chose to get married in Ireland because "home is where the heart is," the bride said. They worked with event planner Andrea Winckworth of Andrea Winckworth Events to bring their dream wedding vision to life, down to the smallest of details.

Time to Say "I Do!"

Erin and Terry exchanged vows in an outdoor ceremony on the grounds of the venue, as their friends and family members looked on. The bride walked down the aisle accompanied by her father, Tony McGregor, to a mash-up of two songs: "Simply the Best" by Tina Turner and "This" by Megan McKenna.

Lovely in Lace

Erin chose a white Zuhair Murad wedding gown with intricate lace detailing and a corset-inspired bodice, paired with Jimmy Choo shoes. "The gown perfectly complemented the regal and glamorous theme of the wedding, making me feel both sophisticated and radiant," she told PEOPLE.

Picture Perfect

Erin's bridesmaids — who included her daughter, Taylor, and Conor's fiancée, Dee Devlin — wore ivory crepe floor-length gowns with diamanté accents by Folkster. On the morning of the wedding, Erin gifted the women with customized blue pajamas and dressing gowns from her own brand, Imperfection by Erin, to mark the special occasion.

Sibling Support

Erin's brother Conor supported his sister at her wedding, wearing a custom black tuxedo from his own label, August McGregor.

Joining Together

Erin and Terry incorporated several unique traditions into their ceremony, including a sand ceremony where they symbolically combined pink- and blue-colored sand — from the site of their first date, Sandymount Beach in Ireland — to represent Taylor and Harry.

The pair also performed a hand-fasting ritual. "During this moment, we recited words that expressed our commitment to each other," Erin said.

A Family Affair

Erin and Terry thoughtfully planned their wedding around the comfort and well-being of their son Harry, who has autism. They opted to hold their ceremony outdoors to provide the 8-year-old with "the freedom to roam as he pleased without feeling confined to an indoor space," his mom said.

"Our absolute must-have for the wedding was ensuring that Harry was as comfortable as possible and able to enjoy the wedding festivities," Erin added.

Special Role

Understanding that their son Harry might not feel comfortable joining the other page boys and flower girls during the processional, Terry and Erin recorded a video during the rehearsal of Harry walking up the aisle with them. They played the footage on two TV screens during the ceremony.

"This allowed us to share that cherished moment with all our guests, no matter the circumstances on the day," Erin noted.

Cheers to the Happy Couple!

After the ceremony, an elegant cocktail reception kicked off. Guests were served an array of tempting canapés as well as cocktails featuring Proper Twelve Irish Whiskey and Forged Irish Stout, both owned by Conor. A six-piece acoustic band performed as everyone mixed and mingled.

Dinner Is Served

The cocktail hour segued into a four-course dinner. The menu included West Cork crab tian with tomato and basil gazpacho and a fennel and herb salad and roast sirloin of beef with Bourguignon garnish and red wine jus.

Sweet Finish

For dessert, guests enjoyed slices of the couple's dramatic, five-tier wedding cake, made by Cakes in Dublin and decorated with edible flowers and a large cascading bow. Other dessert offerings included strawberries and vanilla, white chocolate and matcha tea.

Let the Dancing Begin!

During the reception, the Ambassador Band, a 10-piece group, performed and played Terry and Erin's first dance to "Unconditional" by Sinéad Harnett. As the party continued late into the night, Casa Disco — a four-member group featuring a DJ, singer, drummer and saxophonist — took over and kept the music going.

Sparkling Surprise

In one special moment, a fireworks display lit up the sky over the wedding venue in celebration of Erin and Terry's union.

Quick Change

Erin swapped her formal wedding gown for a white minidress by Folkster as the wedding afterparty got underway. She accessorized with a fun pair bridal-themed sunglasses.

Memories for a Lifetime

Looking back on their picture-perfect wedding, Erin told PEOPLE she is excited to jump into this new chapter in life with Terry by her side.

"I'm looking forward to creating countless memories, facing life's challenges hand in hand, and growing even closer as we build our dreams together," she said.
