Calling all bookworms — Good Morning America is launching a new young adult book club!

Complementing its popular GMA Monthly Book Club, which launched in 2019, the show announced on Thursday, Sept. 26 that the GMA YA Book Club will kick off with Heir by Sabaa Tahir as its inaugural pick.

Heir “masterfully interweaves the lives of three young people: an orphan seeking revenge, an outcast in search of a new life and a prince in exile, as they grapple with the burdens of power, the treachery of love and the devastating consequences of unchecked greed,” according to the book's synopsis.

The romantasy novel, which is set to be released on Oct. 1, comes from National Book Award winner and No. 1  New York Times bestselling author Tahir, 42, who is behind All My Rage and An Ember in the Ashes. The latter was named one of TIME’s 100 Best Young Adult Books of All Time and, along with its three sequels, has been translated into more than 35 languages.

The series was also responsible for making Tahir the first Pakistani-American author to ever hit The New York Times bestseller list for YA, according to Oprah Daily.

“I couldn’t believe it,” she told ELLE.com in 2022 about the accomplishment. “It actually took me a few days to process. I had to set it aside, because it was too big.”

Tahir will appear on GMA on Oct. 18 to discuss her new book, according to a press release. In Heir, Tahir returns to the world of the An Ember in the Ashes series with a story 20 years later with a new generation of characters.

“I am honored to help GMA kick off this new YA book club. YA readers are such a passionate, smart and engaged audience and I can’t wait to talk with them about Heir!” Tahir said, per the release.

The author grew up in the Mojave Desert in Calif. at her family’s business — an 18-room motel — something she has said helped inspire her career.

“I didn’t know I was becoming a storyteller by observing the lives of the tenants coming in and out and observing the lives of my parents as they tried to survive that place,” she told ELLE.com.

“I love writing for YA because it allows me to focus on hope," she told the outlet. "It’s something I think people need, especially now.”

“You have to be honest when you write for teenagers. I’m not talking about having to tell a contemporary story; I mean the honesty of humanity,” she added. “How people treat each other, what their motivations are, and why they want certain things.”

Heir by Sabaa Tahir comes out Oct. 1 and is available for preorder now, wherever books are sold.
