When does Ginny & Georgia Season 3 come out?
Season 3 of Ginny & Georgia will debut June 5, 2025 on Netflix.
Who will be in Season 3 of Ginny & Georgia?
Star Antonia Gentry will reprise her role of Ginny, and Brianne Howey will bring the onscreen mother and daughter duo back to life as Georgia. Diesel La Torraca will return as Austin, and Scott Porter will reprise his role as Wellsbury Mayor Paul Randolph.
Felix Mallard, Sara Waisglass, Jennifer Robertson, Raymond Ablack, Katie Douglas, Chelsea Clark and Nathan Mitchell also be back as twins Marcus and Maxine Baker, Ellen Baker, Joe, Abby Littman, Norah and Ginny’s father Zion Miller.
New additions to the cast announced last summer include Manifest’s Ty Doran and Star Trek: Strange New Worlds’ Noah Lamanna in recurring roles. Doran will play one of Ginny’s poetry classmates Wolfe, who isn’t too into poetry. Lamanna will appear as a skateboarder who is friends with Marcus and Silver and who peer tutors at school.
Who else is behind Season 3 of Ginny & Georgia?
The series is created by Sarah Lampert, who conceived the idea through a writing class outside of her day job, and, with the help of her then boss Jeff Tahler, pitched the project to Netflix. Season 1’s debut in early 2021 marked it a smash hit.
Season 3 marked a change in showrunner from Debra J. Fisher to Sara Glinski, who will helm the later two seasons of the show. Fisher was showrunner for Seasons 1 and 2. Lampert and Glinski serve as the series’ writers. They executive produce alongside Jeff Tahler; Jenny Daly (Critical Content); Holly Hines; Daniel March (Dynamic Television); Lance Samuels, Daniel Iron and Armand Leo (Blue Ice Pictures). Elena Blekhter and Ali Kinney co-executive produce.
What happened in Season 2 of Ginny & Georgia?
The show left off on some dire notes as Georgia’s ex-husband Gil (Aaron Ashmore CK) showed up in Season 2 to fight for custody of their son Austin, Ginny’s younger half brother. He also wants revenge on Georgia, who framed him for embezzlement (which he was already doing on his own) and got him thrown in jail. Gil was abusive, which brought Georgia to give him the slip and disappear with her daughter and son for a while, but Gil’s surfacing in Wellsbury only spells out more complication to the already really complex dynamic of Georgia’s family.
This event and Georgia’s arrest on the eve of her wedding to Paul Randolph made up two of the biggest plot points that will likely carry over into Season 3. First-look images from the show’s third season in face show Georgia behind bars and her kids and Paul in a courtroom setting. Georgia was arrested for the murder of Tom Fuller, Cynthia’s ailing husband whom she smothered with a pillow back in the middle of Season 2. Austin quietly witnessed the event.
Lastly, an acknowledgement of romantic feelings between Georgia and Joe add a third possible love layer to her life after her old flame with Zion never really extinguishes and she tries to commit to Paul. Ginny also faced rough romantic waters when Marcus Baker (Felix Mallard) broke up with her because of his depression, feeling like he couldn’t be what she needed.
What will Ginny & Georgia Season 3 be about?
Georgia’s arrest and how she extricates herself from jail will likely be a big focus early on in the third season. Ginny’s mental health is also a big theme of the show, and her dynamic with Marcus will probably be further addressed somehow, though it seems they’ve broken up at least for now.
Fans will recall that Season 1 of the hit show followed Georgia Miller (Howey), her teen daughter, Ginny Miller (Gentry), and her youngest Austin (La Torraca) as they move to a fictional affluent town in Massachusetts for a fresh start after Georgia’s husband dies. It turns out Georgia killed her ex-husband, Kenny, after he got handsy with Ginny. She poisoned him with a flower powder in his workout smoothie, and they ran away. PI Gabriel (Alex Mallari Jr.) tracked her to Wellsbury and went under cover, dating Nick (Dan Beirne) to get closer to his target and bust her for the trail of tragedy she has left behind her.
Will there be more seasons of Ginny & Georgia after Season 3?
Yes, the show received a rare double renewal from Netflix for a third and fourth season after its second installment concluded.
