Gerry Turner 'Patched Things Up' with Ex Leslie Fhima Before She Attended His Golden Wedding to Theresa Nist
The Golden Bachelor also admitted that seeing his exes in the crowd during his televised wedding to Nist was "freakin’ weird"
Gerry Turner and his now-wife Theresa Nist are opening up about their decision to invite his ex Leslie Fhima to their wedding.
On the latest episode of Almost Famous podcast, The Golden Bachelor lead, 72, revealed he and Nist, 70, wanted all of the former contestants to attend their big day despite it being “freakin’ weird” to see them in the crowd.
“I seem to be able to pick out those faces in the crowd much more easily than any of the others,” he shared. “Fortunately, I really kept good friendships with pretty much all of those women so it wasn’t as awkward as it could have been.”

Turner also addressed where he stands with runner-up Fhima, saying, “I think over time Leslie and I have more and more patched up things and we’re able to hug and say, ‘OK, what has happened is in the past' and so forth.”
“With some of the other women, I’m mean, I’m really friendly still with Faith and with Joan and with some of the others and we have conversations ... it really kinda furthers the atmosphere and culture from the show,” he added. “We are all supportive and helped each other and rooted for each other.”
Nist agreed, sharing that she wanted “all the women there.” She added, “There’s so much warm and camaraderie amongst us. It just added really to how warm the ceremony was, which is what we wanted.”
“I was asked specifically, would I mind if [Leslie] went [to the wedding]. I said, ‘Of course not,’” she explained. “I said, ‘I want to invite her.’ We were really good friends, I love her.”
After attending the couple’s big day, Fhima revealed what moment made her “a little uncomfortable” during the ceremony.
The 65-year-old fitness instructor shared that she had mixed emotions about when Costa Rica — where the couple got engaged but her relationship with Turner ended — was brought up during the ceremony.
“It was a little uncomfortable during the ceremony when they were talking about Costa Rica, because I was there too,” Fhima shared on the Almost Famous podcast earlier this month.
However, her discomfort was short-lived. She shared, “It was probably the only time it was really uncomfortable for me and seeing Theresa so happy really, kind of, just took that away anyhow.”

As for Fhima, she recalled during After the Final Rose, she felt “blindsided” by the breakup with Turner in the tropical locale.
“I was 100 percent certain that I was his girl,” she explained. “And things he said to me on our overnight and meeting his family, I mean, they didn’t show everything, but we had such a good time.”
