Gemma Ward Is Pregnant

Australian model Gemma Ward is pregnant with her first baby.

The 25-year old Perth born star is expecting with her long-term boyfriend David Letts, and is thought to be six months along.

The news comes as a surprise after Ward announced earlier this year that she was making a comeback to modeling after a five-year hiatus.

The supermodel famously withdrew from the industry in 2008 following the death of her then rumoured boyfriend, Heath Ledger.

"I've taken a break from the media spotlight for the last few years and it was something spurred by Heath [Ledger]'s death," said the model at the time.

It wasn’t until this year that she signed a contract with IMG Models, which she quickly followed up with a short stint in Baz Luhrmann's The Great Gatsby.

IMG Models Australia's general manager Danielle Ragenard told Frockwriter earlier this year that Ward "wants to get back into the Australian market… she hasn't worked in this market for a long time so to make the move obviously it's because she wants to further her career."

Ward's unusual features made her one of the most in-demand models in the world, with fashion and style director Edward Enninful tweeting, "Nobody looked like Gemma, she was a one-off. I wish Gemma was still modelling!"

While we might have to wait a while to see her in action again, it will undoubtedly be worth it!
