Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood Make a Bold Declaration About Jimmy Carter

Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood penned an open letter to Jimmy Carter on his 100th birthday and it's so touching you may want to go ahead and grab the box of tissues, just in case.

On Tuesday, Oct. 1, the couple of country stars honored Carter's milestone and history-making birthday as the first president to become a centenarian with a carousel of photos shared to Instagram that showed the two of them posing alongside the former president, his late wife Rosalynn Carter and several volunteers as they stood outside one of the many Habitat for Humanity projects built in the not too distant past.

The photo book of images from over the years was dedicated to "the man with longest legacy of giving we have ever known."

"Happy 100th Birthday Mr. President Carter," Brooks, 62, and Yearwood, 60, continued, "Your work has impacted the world and your heart continues to change lives, ours included. Grateful to be on your Carter Work Project @habitatforhumanity build this week with many others … Thank you for inspiring all of us to give more and love more! It’s an honor to be your friend."

The tribute was co-signed with "love, Garth and Trisha."

Fans may recall that last year, Brooks and Yearwood sang Carter a tune in honor of his big day. It's become quite the tradition for the "Friends in Low Places" crooner and Yearwood to honor their partnership-turned-friendship with the 39th president.

Brooks and the "She's in Love With the Boy" songstress have built a relationship with the Carter family through the Carter Work Project, a collaborative effort with Habitat for Humanity to help renovate, repair, and build homes for those in need.

The country stars returned to fulfill the duties of their roles again this year, making the build event in St. Paul, Minn., their 14th year working with the nonprofit.

“The love present at each Carter Work Project is a tribute to the thousands of volunteers that come together each year to build these homes,” Brooks and Yearwood said in a statement. “We can think of no better way to honor President Carter’s 100th birthday and Mrs. Carter’s life of service than by swinging our hammers in St. Paul.”
