Yahoo Lifestyle Free sustainable play area opens in city centre
A theatre company has created a play area made entirely out of recycled and reused materials.
The Herd designed the space at Princes Quay Shopping Centre in Hull where families with children aged up to five can play for free.
It follows on from their success of Replay, a recycled playground at Southbank Centre in London.
The temporary play area will be open every Wednesday and Thursday between 10:00 and 15:00 BST until 28 November.
Those behind Herd hope it inspires adults to rethink what their idea of waste is, as well as what can be defined as a toy.
Theatre director, Ruby Thompson, said: “Adults are always talking about how children have more fun with the cardboard box than the toy. We’re really excited to be bringing free open-ended play to Hull city centre.”
