Frank Fritz, 'American Pickers' Star, Dead at 60
Fans of the popular reality TV show American Pickers and its stars are mourning the loss of Frank Fritz, who died on Sept. 30 at 60.
The news was first confirmed on Facebook, with an admin named Annette Oberlander Willows sharing photos and writing, "This is a very tough announcement to make Frank passed away last night around 7:30 he was surrounded by myself Mike Wolfe made a high speed to get back here from Nashville and other friends."
"Please understand this is a very rough time for us. Including Mike so be kind as we are trying to figure out how to cope with this. Thank you all for your love and support through the years," the statement concluded.
Mike Wolfe, who has starred in the series for many years, shared the news on his social media, writing alongside a photo of himself and Fritz, "It’s with a broken heart that I share with all of you that Frank passed away last night."
He praised Fritz, saying, "I’ve know Frank for more then half my life and what you’ve seen on TV has always been what I have seen, a dreamer who was just as sensitive as he was funny. The same off camera as he was on, Frank had a way of reaching the hearts of so many by just being himself."
"I love you buddy and will miss you so much I know your in a better place," Wolfe concluded.
Fans of Fritz were heartbroken to hear the sad news, with one saying to Wolfe, "Thanks for attending at his bedside, you stood in for us all. RIP, sir."
"Sorry for your loss Mike, it is a loss for all, we share the sadness and the memories," said another.
Fritz left the show American Pickers in 2020 due to various issues, including an alleged feud between himself and Wolfe. After around three years of feuding, Fritz and Wolfe reunited in May 2023, and Wolfe was reportedly by Fritz's side when he died.
An official cause of death has not been shared, though Fritz's death comes around two years after he was hospitalized after suffering a stroke.
