Former Neighbours Star Tottie Goldsmith 'Caught in Festival Drug Swoop'

Ex-Neighbours star Tottie Goldsmith allegedly caught with drugs at Hot Barbeque Music Festival

Former Neighbours star and Chantoozies singer Tottie Goldsmith was allegedly caught with drugs at the weekend.

Goldsmith, 48, was allegedly detected with what was believed to be cocaine as she entered the Hot Barbeque music festival at Point Nepean, near Portsea in Victoria, on Saturday, Jan, 22.

If she pleads guilty, she may be forced to enter a diversion program and undergo therapy.

Goldsmith’s agent refused to comment, and the former pop star was later seen with other celebrities at the VIP Beach Club marquee, which was hosted by Molly Meldrum and Lili Romano. Attendees at the after-party included Ruby Rose, Nick Bracks and AFL footballers Dane Swan, Heath Shaw, Josh Gibson and Brad Sewell.

Forty people were caught trying to get drugs into Hot Barbeque, and police found an “extraordinary” amount of drugs abandoned on the buses used to drive festival-goers to the event.

Witnesses said the carpark was chaotic as sniffer dogs combed the area.

Inspector Shayne Pannell said nobody was above the law under these operations. "This type of behaviour will not go unnoticed by police and we will ensure anyone doing the wrong thing is caught," he said.

Goldsmith is a regular on the Melbourne celebrity circuit and is best known for her acting role on Neighbours and as a vocalist in ‘80s group Chantoozies. Her father is former Melbourne nightclub owner Brian Goldsmith and she is Olivia Newtown John’s niece.
