Footage of Kate and William's graduation ceremony resurfaces
Fans of Prince William and Kate Middleton have been swept up in royal nostalgia after footage of the couple’s university graduation has resurfaced.
The clip doing the rounds on the internet shows the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge back in 2005 at age 23 collecting their degrees from Scotland’s St Andrews University.
In the audience is of course some very important members of the royal family, including the Queen and Prince Philip, as well as Prince Charles and Camilla Parker Bowles.
The pair graduated (William in geography and Kate in art history) on June 23, 2005, which is believed to be two years into their romance.
Little did they know back then they’d tie the knot a good six years later in 2011.
Royal fans have been touched by the video which was posted by a fan account called @teatimewiththecambridges and many have noted the Queen’s elation at seeing her grandson graduate.
“‘William Wales’ that sounds so cute. The Queen looks so proud when she heard his name,” one fan wrote.
“Loved that the queen was just like any other grandmother and so happy for him!! She’s the cutest,” another noted.
“The Queen was ecstatic when William’s name was called !!!happy occasion to see your child graduate,” was another message sharing a rather similar sentiment.
Kate and Wills first met back in 2001, before becoming closer during their college days.
