Sydney Is Getting Its First Cereal Café

Sydney could never have too many brunch spots, but a cereal café? There could only be one.

Your favourite breakfast cereal brand, Kellogg’s, and Surry Hills café Kawa, will become one for one week only on April 19.

The Kellogg’s x Kawa Cereal Café pop up is the café of your childhood dreams, with cereal classics like Coco Pops, Corn Flakes, Rice Bubbles and Special K on the menu - but not as you know them.

The cereal gurus at Kellogg’s want you to think about cereal in a way you’ve never thought about it before - in brunch, lunch, decadent desserts and drinks.

Can you imagine this?

Crunchy Nut and Nutri-Grain cereal milk thickshakes? Yes we can.

Coco Pops creamy hot chocolate? Yup.

Rice Bubbles crusted decadent French toast with banana, maple syrup and crispy bacon? Um. Yes please!

Corn Flakes crumbed chicken burger with homemade chilli mayo, ripe tomato and lettuce on a warm brioche bun? Wow- definitely!

It seems cereal is having a comeback, with cereal-inspired creations popping like Rice Bubbles all over the place.

The Cereal Killer Café in London has been a big success, taking Londoners on a trip down memory lane.

Brothers, co-founders and self-confessed cereal obsessives, Gary and Alan Keely, were thrilled to find out Sydney was getting its first cereal café.

“We’re crazy about cereal – breakfast, lunch or dinner, it really doesn’t matter when, we’re always craving a bowl. Looking forward to seeing Kellogg’s x Kawa take over in Sydney this month,” they said.

Kellogg’s is opening the café to celebrate the launch of Open for Breakfast, a new interactive website which invites Aussies to ask questions and discover more about their breakfast – how it’s made, what it’s made of and everything in between.
