Magnolia fans know Chip Gaines loves a demo day. But, this week, the Fixer Upper star kicked off a very special project that is close to his heart.

As a proud Waco, Texas, resident and life-long baseball fan, when he heard a local field had seen better days, Chip was quick to offer his services. He helped tear down the dugout and plant some new trees to give the ballpark a much-needed glow-up. Thanks to his partnership with Bobcat, the project got off to a quick start.

Chip is a brand ambassador for the North Dakota-based company, and, for him, it was a no-brainer. He told Country Living when we spoke to him during a press event, "I am absolutely smitten and adore their equipment. Bottom line."

He credits Bobcat equipment for kickstarting his career. He said, "I've used Bobcats since I was a young contractor just starting out here in Waco, Texas. For me, it was an amazing day that I was able to buy my first piece of equipment. It's an honor to be a part of it."

Chip jokes, "I just can't believe to the contrary that they picked me. I'm just really happy to be here. I was just on cloud nine, all right. I feel like this with Jo. I don't know why she married me."

Laura Ness Owens, Bobcat vice president of global brand and marketing, knows exactly why they teamed up with Chip. She explained, "I said early on that I'm not interested in paying someone to say 'I like Bobcat.' So we look for people who have common goals. It's been maybe an unexpected and beautiful partnership as we've come together. Honestly, he just loves fun. He's a fun guy, and that's also very authentic to Bobcat. We really like to work hard and play hard."

Now, they're looking for more people to join in the fun. Together with the National Recreation and Park Association, Chip and Bobcat kicked off a new makeover contest. One deserving community will receive a $100,000 park makeover. If you know a park worthy of its own fixer upper, find the details here.
