Even though you’ve yet to give out your Reese’s Pumpkins and green Twix bars to the trick-or-treaters, the world has seemingly moved on to the winter holidays. We know Disney World is notorious for switching its Halloween decorations to Christmas decor on the night of Oct. 31, but we didn’t realize that so many brands are doing that as well.

Since we’ve all been drinking pumpkin spice lattes since August, we guess we’re ready for holiday flavors early, too. A few fast food restaurants have already announced their holiday menus, including Sonic with its Red Velvet Cake Batter Shake and KFC with its cranberry syrup-infused PepsiCo soda. Now, we’re getting a winter offering from a surprising source: Five Guys.

The burger restaurant isn’t known for dropping new menu items very frequently—it quietly added a Patty Melt to its menu in September, but it’s never sold a limited-time dessert before. Now, for the first time ever, Five Guys is releasing a limited-edition holiday milkshake.

Five Guys Launches New Candy Cane Crunch Shake

Beginning Nov. 1, Five Guys is offering a new Candy Cane Crunch add-in for its iconic milkshakes.

The Candy Cane Crunch mix-in is made with real candy cane pieces, so it gives the milkshake a strong peppermint flavor without the need for syrups or extract. It also means the shake has a unique crunch you won’t find from most peppermint-flavored ice creams.

Additionally, Five Guys’ minty add-in doesn’t include chocolate, as you’d find in Chick-fil-A’s fan-loved Peppermint Chip Milkshake or Shake Shack’s beloved Chocolate Peppermint shake. However, you can always ask for the chocolate mix-in, too.

While the holiday mix-in is a new concept for Five Guys, it could also make for a totally new milkshake every time you visit the burger chain this season. In fact, the festive holiday creation allows customers to try more than 500 different milkshakes using Five Guys' additional add-ins.

Each Candy Cane Crunch shake, regardless of additional mix-ins, will be topped with whipped cream and candy cane pieces.

There are rumblings on Reddit that if this launch goes well, Five Guys may continue experimenting with more seasonal add-ins. So, if you’re as enthusiastic about milkshake flavors as we are, you have until Dec. 31 to try Five Guys’ Candy Cane Crunch shake—and, hopefully, rave about it enough that we’ll see more new menu items from the chain soon.
