First footage of Parvati Shallow and Dr. Will Kirby on “Deal or No Deal Island ”unveiled

"Australian Survivor" champ David Genat also makes his mark as the season 2 premiere date is revealed.

Deal or No Deal Island was one of the unexpected TV success stories of 2024 thanks to a cast that brought old-school reality competition spicy drama, and if the first trailer for season 2 is any indication, the heat is about to get cranked up even higher.

It’s not just one contestant telling another “You ain’t nothin’ but a cheat with a flat ass, baby.” It’s not just Australian Survivor legend David Genat proclaiming that “Every single person is a narcissistic psychopath.” And it’s not just the clear showmance between two players, with one of them admitting, “I’m playing Deal or No Deal Island and I’m playing Love Island together.” But all of that is amazing, and all of that is in the trailer below for season 2, which premieres with a two-hour installment on Jan. 7 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on NBC before moving to its regular 9 p.m. slot on Jan. 14.

We also get to see our first footage of American reality TV icons Parvati Shallow and Dr. Will Kirby. “I won Survivor,” announces Parvati. “I could be a cult leader if I want to.” But are the 11 new contestants playing alongside the three reality veterans wise to Parvati’s game? Perhaps, judging by Phillip Solomon’s comment that “Parvati gains the trust of men and squeezes them until they die.” (Factually, if not literally, accurate.)

And then there is Dr. Will. Always the showman, Will arrives on a speed boat while wearing a tuxedo — as one does in the jungles of Panama — announcing to the others that “I am the best Big Brother player of all-time.” Another scene shows him leisurely staying behind as other players scramble through a course, informing us that “Peasants run, the king doesn’t run.”

Ah, but who will emerge as the king or queen of Deal or No Deal Island season 2? It is a title that would appear to come with riches based on host Joe Manganiello announcing that “This is the most money anyone has ever won in the history of television.” Of course, he also rips a treasure map in half, so clearly that guy cannot be trusted. But hold on… did Manganiello also reveal that Howie Mandel is not back as the Banker, and that the new Banker is actually a woman? Hmmm…
