Summer is made for outdoor parties. If you want to get a little fancier than beer and wine—but don't want to be shaking a cocktail shaker all afternoon—then old-school punch is the way to go!

This Planter's punch is pull-out-all-the-stops impressive. You don't have to go full-tilt with edible flowers and everything, but we recommend trying it at least once. It's really a great way to make a gathering memorable.

You can pick up woven drink holders and trays at Amanda Lindroth Glassware. And if you're looking to add some backyard chickens to your life, try the Adopt-a-Bird Network, which finds homes for abandoned chickens!

  • 1 c.

    fresh lime juice

  • 1/2 c.

    grenadine

  • 3 c.

    light rum

  • 2 c.

    guava juice

  • 2 c.

    fresh orange juice

  • 1 c.

    dry curaçao

  • 1 tsp.

    angostura bitters

  • Slices of lime and orange, for garnish

  • Edible flowers, such as orchid blooms, for garnish

Directions

  1. Combine lime juice and grenadine in a shaker; shake to combine. Combine rum, guava juice, orange juice, curaçao, bitters, and shaken lime mixture in a punch bowl. Top with slices of lime and orange and edible flowers (try phalaenopsis orchids).

  2. Serve over crushed ice and garnish each glass with a lime slice and orchid bloom. Don’t forget the cocktail umbrella!

Make it a mocktail: Replace the rum with sparkling water. Omit curaçao and bitters. Increase lime juice to 2 cups.
