Ferne McCann is one of 14 constants competing on the latest series of Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins, alongside Love Island star Curtis Pritchard and EastEnders actress Maisie Smith.

The reality TV star became emotional on Sunday’s episode (September25) after she fired at the wrong opponent during a weapon-training challenge.

SAS soldier Mark ‘Billy’ Billingham comforted her as she said: “I really don’t think that I can do this sort of thing. I fired at the guy that didn’t fire at me so I f****d it.”

In an interview with Billingham later in the day, she revealed why she broke down and said: “Out of everything I’m like right, I reckon my mind is going to be one of my strengths.

“But I wasn’t really sure what I was doing and I didn’t really understand.”

She added: “People see me as a reality star and it really bugs me when people say I have no talent.

“But I’ve always wanted to impress and do good because I’ve got so much self-doubt. I really just want to start believing in myself.”

However, McCann also impressed viewers with her fighting skills, as she took on her instructor and kicked him in the head.

One viewer said: “Wouldn’t like a scrap with Ferne McCann,” while another said: “Ferne definitely pretended that was one of her exes.”

Fans also sent her messages of encouragement following the brutal episode.

A Twitter user said: “Wish you could see yourself as we see you. Incredible woman,” while a fan told her: “You have fight in you. I see you in a new light. Great fight.”

On Twitter, McCann responded to the attention she received and said: “Hey guys, thank you all for the comments from tonight’s #SASWhoDaresWins. I live to see another day. What an experience. Seriously, it was the toughest thing I’ve ever done.”
