Witnesses say they saw a "lit object" being hurled through the window of the retail store, according to a police report obtained by the Los Angeles Times.

Glass was shattered after the culprit threw the missile and when police arrived at the scene they discovered the "heavy object" was smouldering.

What's more, they discovered a bottle of lighter fluid outside the property.

However, the LAPD found no damage to the stock or contents of the shop.

The culprit fled the scene and no arrests have been made, though police are continuing to investigate the crime and are checking CCTV.

Dash - which is described as a 'sleek outlet for upmarket clothing and accessories' on its site - was one of the first businesses the Kardashians owned before they branched out into reality TV and embarked on makeup lines and mobile apps.

Khloé, 31, once revealed that promoting the shop was one of the main reasons she agreed to appear on 'Keeping Up With The Kardashians' and it was Kourtney, 37, who convinced her sister running Dash would help her get back on her feet after their father Robert Kardashian passed away from cancer in 2003.

She said: "(Kourtney told me) we're going to open a women's clothing store, and you're going to run it', Because I just needed structure. I needed something to do every day.

She added: "Kim and my mom really wanted to do the TV show, and Kourtney and I were like, 'All we wanted to do was the kids store and Dash. [Show producer] Ryan Seacrest was like, 'Well, I only want you on if it's a family show.' (We said) 'well, if you film at the store, and it's our commercial, then we'll be on it.' "

The original store opened in Calabasas, California, in 2006, but it was relocated to West Hollywood six years later.
