Gigi Hadid Talks About 'Scary' Victoria's Secret Audition and Fighting Back On Social Media

Gigi Hadid has admitted that she wasn't surprised she got rejected from the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show twice, as she was so nervous during the auditions, she was shaking.

The stunning 20-year-old model-of-the-moment told ABC's Live! With Kelly And Michael that she was unsure whether or not she would ever to be able to make it as a model following the auditions, which featured a full-blown catwalk, an audience and numerous cameramen.

"Last year I auditioned for the show and I wouldn't have put me on the show either.

"I walked in there and was shaking like this [as she showed her hands trembling].

"It's actually really scary."

Talking about the "terrifying" call backs the Victoria's Secret models have to endure, Gigi said she was extremely intimidated.

"The call-back is a room this big with a full-on runway, 17 video cameras, a panel of 20 people that I had never met my first year and I was terrified," she said.

The model went on to discuss the criticism she receives for her athletic figure and why she is so outspoken about it on social media.

"My whole thing with fighting back on social media and standing up for myself has also been because when I did so there have been Victoria's Secret Angels to plus-size models that were texting me like "this is happening to everyone regardless of who they are" and I think that's the problem," she said.

"I think that my message is that people need to realise that the person that they are commenting, regardless if they are in the public eye or not, is an actual human and hiding behind a computer doesn't make it okay."
