Fans Say Keith Urban's Emotional New Video 'Speaks Volumes'

Fans believe Keith Urban perfectly captured the feeling he was aiming for with the music video he released in support of his latest single, “MESSED UP AS ME.”

The video, which the country music star unveiled on Tuesday, Sept. 17, followed the single’s official release earlier this month. Recorded in downtown Nashville, Tenn., it showcases nightlife at 2:45 a.m. with a montage of clips following people experiencing the positive and negative emotions that often come with that time of night.

“MESSED UP AS ME lives in the world between 2:45am and sunrise,” Urban, 56, explained in his Instagram caption, adding, "it’s a time where many things can and do happen. people go through all sorts of emotions - euphoric, ecstatic HIGHs and crushing lows.”

The clip that the four-time Grammy Award winner shared on Instagram was just a snapshot of the music video, the full 3 minutes and 25 seconds of which he shared in full on YouTube.

Fans reacted with overwhelming approval in the video’s comment section on Instagram, with one fan informing Urban that his music video team had “captured it perfectly.” His “ability to cut to the heart of the matter continues to slay me,” they added.

“Absolutely crushing lows,” one fan noted after watching the video. "You nailed it!”

“This video says so much. Truthfulness, the pain of needing someone. It speaks volumes ❤️‍🔥,” one Instagram user wrote while another agreed the video “Speaks volumes.”

In addition to the fans who declared they were “obsessed with every second of this video,” others commended the song itself, with one identifying it as their “favorite new song so far.”

"Love the song Keith 👏❤️👏,” another fan agreed.

“Wow I feel young again 🔥,” one Instagram user shared.

Others jumped on the opportunity to applaud Urban’s decades of achievements as an artist. “I will honestly never understand why Keith doesn't get as much recognition as he deserves - one of the greatest artists of our time. 💥,” one person wrote.

“Keith is Soo underated [sic],” another fan agreed.

In addition to his new music video, Urban has a full-length album coming out soon. HIGH is scheduled for release on Friday, Sept. 20.
