A representative for Gigi Hadid has confirmed that she and the Australian pop star, 18, have decided to end their relationship after two years of dating.

Gigi's spokesperson told E! News, "Cody and Gigi want each other to be in a place right now that allows him to only focus on his music, fans, and new message, while she can focus and continue building her career.

"They love each other dearly and have split up in hopes that growing on their own paths will bring them together in the future."

Only last month, Cody was insisting he was "dedicated" to making it work with Gigi.

The Pretty Brown Eyes singer first split from Gigi in May 2014 because of their busy schedules, but Cody said they were working hard to make their relationship less "stressful" despite their jet-setting lifestyles.

He explained, "We definitely make it work. We see each other a lot more than you would expect because we're sort of dedicated to making it work, and it's not too stressful."

Cody also revealed they'd made a conscious effort to live less of their lives in the spotlight.

The singer said, "It's honestly like, we try to stay in a bit. We try to stay, like, out of the [spotlight] - but it's hard because she's a model, so she's getting taken photos of all the time and stuff like that ... [but] we like to just try to stay low [key]. I'm not a massive fan of having my photo taken and stuff."
