“F1” Super Bowl Trailer: Brad Pitt Speeds Through an Explosive New Glimpse of the Formula 1 Drama

Brad Pitt and Damson Idris star in 'F1,' in theaters June 27

Brad Pitt and Damson Idris are revving up for greatness this summer in the new F1 trailer.

The high-speed racing film debuted a trailer on Super Bowl Sunday, showcasing new footage of Pitt, 61, behind the wheel.

Snowfall star Idris, 33, plays race car driver Joshua Pearce of the fictional APXGP team, whom Pitt’s Sonny Hayes comes out of retirement to mentor. The pair eventually become teammates. The movie was filmed "during actual Grand Prix weekends as the team competes against the titans of the sport," according to Warner Bros.

Speaking to Vanity Fair last summer, Idris had nothing but great things to say about his costar’s ability to accurately portray a Formula 1 driver.

"I don’t know if people know this, but he is really good behind that car. Really good. Too good almost. He makes me nervous how good he is,” the Children of Blood and Bone actor told the outlet in a July 2024 interview.

At the time, Idris also praised Pitt for "his humility,” which he said was “second to none."

The first trailer to the Joseph Kosinski-directed film was released earlier that same month.

In the preview, Pitt explains to the team’s technical director Kate (played by Kerry Condon) that the car he’s working with needs to be “built for combat.” When she asks how she’s supposed to make that “safe,” his answer is simple: “Who said anything about safe?”

“We’ve got Brad and Damson actually driving the cars, which is pretty spectacular in itself, but to do that in front of a live audience and at the speeds they’re doing it and figuring out a way to capture it,” Kosinski previously told Deadline.”

"The logistics of it are unlike anything I’ve done before,” added the filmmaker, who previously directed 2022's Top Gun: Maverick starring Tom Cruise.

Javier Bardem, Tobias Menzies, Sarah Niles, Kim Bodnia and Samson Kayo also join Idris, Condon and Pitt for the action film. In addition to the A-list actors, seven-time Formula 1 champ Lewis Hamilton is one of the producers for the project.

F1 is in theaters June 27.
