Exclusive Happy’s Place Sneak Peek: Bobbie and Gabby Are Single… But Are They Ready to Mingle?
A reluctant Bobbie (Reba McEntire) agrees to reenter the dating pool in TVLine’s exclusive sneak peek at Friday’s Happy’s Place (NBC, 8/7c).
When the episode starts out, Gabby (Melissa Peterman) has just suffered yet another heartbreak — hence the root beer float she’s finishing off as Bobbie and Isabella (Belissa Escobedo) find her in Bobbie’s office. She’s ready to give up on love, but Bobbie doesn’t want that for her friend. She agrees to join a dating app so that Gabby doesn’t feel so alone in her search. In exchange, though, Gabby must allow Bobbie and Isabella to tinker with her profile to try and help her bartender find a better match.

We can’t say for certain that their effort proves futile, but all signs point that way. Bobbie and Isabella ultimately “decide to throw a Ladies’ Night at the tavern to show Gabby that she doesn’t need a man to be happy… but things don’t go as planned,” according to the official synopsis. Meanwhile, TVLine was first to report that fellow Reba vet Steve Howey will guest-star in Happy’s Place’s Christmas episode… as a potential sperm donor for Gabby!
“It’s a lot of fun,” series co-creator (and fellow Reba alum) Kevin Abbott previously told TVLine of Howey’s guest spot. “We absolutely want to bring some of the old cast members on — and in very different roles than what they played on Reba. Steve’s our first one up, and we’re trying to figure out how to bring JoAnna [Garcia-Swisher] in. We only want to have the old cast in if we can really utilize them in a fun, impactful way.”
New episodes of Happy’s Place air Fridays at 8/7c on NBC (and stream next day on Peacock). Watch TVLine’s exclusive sneak peek above, then hit the comments and tell us how you’re enjoying McEntire and Peterman’s new comedy so far.
