EXCLUSIVE: Backstage With Heidi Klum for Her First Official Paris Fashion Week Runway at Vetements’ Spring 2025 Show

Heidi Klum has been a fixture in the modeling and entertainment industry for more than 30 years, so it may come as a surprise that Vetements’ spring 2025 show on Thursday marked her debut participating in a show on the official Paris Fashion Week calendar.

The “Project Runway” host and “America’s Got Talent” judge wore leather pants, a crop top printed with “Polizei,” and a long black overcoat by the brand’s creative director Guram Gvasalia. “I felt badass,” the German model exclusively told WWD of her moment on the catwalk, adding, “He told me not to smile, which I knew in any case, but I guess he was worried that I would smile… The music was amazing and gave this cool German underground vibe to the show.”

Klum was among a roster of other familiar names, including Travis Scott, Gigi Hadid, Maye Musk and Carmen Kass. “I love that there is such a variety of amazing talent walking the show,” Klum said of being tapped by Gvasalia. “I love that Guram trusted me to be part of the show and wanted to show that models can have many different faces.”

The former Victoria’s Secret Angel also walked in L’Oréal Paris’ Walk Your Worth runway in Paris on Sept. 23. While the show isn’t considered an official part of the fashion week calendar as it’s off-schedule, Klum said it still holds a special place in her heart.

“One of my most fun fashion week memories was from this Monday when I did the L’Oréal Paris show.  I love that we all got together to celebrate diversity and girl power,” she explained. “Also, at the show we were all given roses to throw out at the end, I threw my rose and my husband caught it, so that was so special and I will always remember it,” the TV personality continued.

Klum’s modeling career began in 1992 after winning a modeling contract with Metropolitan Models New York. Her resume spans numerous magazine covers, brand campaigns and turns on the New York Fashion Week runways for Zac Posen, Escada, Vera Wang and more.
