Eva Longoria says Desperate Housewives reunion probably won't happen
Eva Longoria was 29-years-old when she became a household name as Gabrielle Solis in Desperate Housewives, a role she would play for eight years. And while she says she'd be the "first one to sign up" for a reunion, she tells us she doesn't actually think it'll ever happen.
"Oh my god! Yes, I would jump at the chance," Eva, who is currently working as an ambassador for McHappy Day tells Yahoo Lifestyle. "I really really you know, miss Gabby, I miss Wisteria Lane. I would be the first one to sign up.
"Believe me I miss those girls. And I've missed the show, but I don't think it's going to happen."
While it may disappoint fans of the show, the actress, now 46, has certainly been busy since she finished the show, starring in a number of films and TV shows over the years. And while it's one of her passions, she has another love that she dedicates a lot of her time to – philanthropy.

Eva, whose sister Liza is special needs, spoke to us about being an ambassador for Ronald McDonald House's McHappy Day and the charity's importance for families with sick children.
"I was so honoured to be the 2021 ambassador for McHappy Day I have been such a big fan of Ronald McDonald House and everything that they do to really provide a home away from home for families going through probably one of the worst moments in their lives with a seriously ill or injured child," she tells us. "And so when they asked me to be a part of it, I was like, 'Absolutely, sign me up.'"
She continued, "My life's work is about philanthropy and giving back and I think if we've learned anything in the last, you know, 20 months of being in a global pandemic, it's that we live in a global community. You have to care about what is happening in the world. You have to care about other people. And how what you do affects them and also what can you do that can help them?"
Eva shared how her sister is her inspiration for all the work she does, saying, "She's definitely my inspiration for having compassion and putting yourself in other people's shoes and she's just, you know, taught me so many lessons in life about finding the good in everybody and in everything and so, yeah, I think she's pretty proud [of me]."
"And you know, having a sister with special needs, I now can look back and see how hard it was for my mother," she added. "I was able to speak to a lot of the families that are affected by the Ronald McDonald House. And I was just blown away by their strength and bravery in a moment that could break you and so, you know, hearing all of these mums talk about what they gained from the Ronald McDonald House support, whether it was you know, housing or a meal or a toothbrush, or the community of other parents going through the same thing.
"There was so much need for these services. And so I was so happy to be part of McHappy Day because it's the biggest fundraiser for this charity."
While Eva couldn't make it over to Australia this time around for McHappy Day, she added that she missed being able to travel here, something she did about once a year pre-pandemic.
"I really love Sydney," she shared. "Of course, Bondi Beach. I'm such a tourist! But I have to tell you I fell in love with the Gold Coast. Yeah, well in love with Brisbane and the north and it was just really, really beautiful."
Looking at Eva it's clear she's doing all the right things when it comes to keeping herself healthy with the star sharing the secret to her 'glow', and it's probably not something you'd expect.
"You know, it's everything. People think there's like a secret sauce and it's not, it's diet, it's exercise, it's meditation. It's, you know, love.
"It's being fulfilled with your job. Your family, your relationships, your friendships, you know, I always look at like, the happiest zones in the world, the Blue Zones and they say that people are most happy when they have community when you're actually sitting and sharing stories and time with others.
"And whether it's playing cards or Domino's or sitting around talking, drinking a glass of wine, like that's what life's about. That's really what life's about."
She continued, "And unfortunately our societies today are set up that we have to work so hard to, you know, just make a living and so that doesn't give people a lot of leisure time. And leisure time is really what makes you glow and shine."
Aussies can support McHappy Day by buying a Big Mac on November 13, with $2 from every burger sold going to RMHC, or you can make a donation on their website, or purchase a pair of $5 Silly Socks, or Helping Hands for $2, $10 or $50 from Wednesday, October 20 from their local McDonald’s.
