Eras Tour Opener Makes a Bold Declaration About Taylor Swift’s Impact

Beatrice Laus, the musician known by her stage name Beabadoobee, is shedding new light on how Taylor Swift impacted her own artistry.

The British singer/songwriter was one of Swift’s Eras Tour openers back in 2023. Swift, 34, kicked off her popular tour in the U.S. in March 2023 before taking it overseas. Laus, 24, opened for Swift at several of the pop superstar’s early U.S. concerts in March and April of last year.

Speaking with Cosmopolitan for an interview that the magazine published on Thursday, Nov. 14, Laus described the “Cruel Summer” songstress as “a beast” for her determination to perform three-hour-long shows with full choreography night after night, a task that Laus said Swift was tackling without alcohol.

The scope of Swift’s Eras Tour performances also taught Laus something important about performing. “She also helped me see that even when things are so epic, mistakes happen,” Laus told the magazine. “You keep going. She helped me learn to stop freaking out about the little things.”

That lesson “made me a better artist,” Laus declared.

Laus is one of many musicians on the rise to publicly gush over the “Fortnight” singer’s impact on their own music or performance style. Several rock and roll legends, from Don McLean to Ringo Starr, have also praised Swift for her songwriting and success, with the Beatles alum even making a bold comparison between Swift’s fans and Beatlemania.

Twenty months after her Eras Tour began, Swift is preparing to bring it to an end, with only a few scheduled concerts remaining. Her final string of international dates begins on Thursday in Canada, where she will perform the first of six shows at Toronto’s Rogers Centre with opener Gracie Abrams. After the Toronto concerts, the tour will go to Vancouver, with Swift’s final Eras Tour show scheduled to take place at Vancouver’s BC Place on Dec. 8.
