The Internet Is Having A Field Day Now That Republicans Seemingly Believe That Democrats Control The Weather

Two weeks after Hurricane Helene, Hurricane Milton has slammed Florida — and people on the internet are talking about Democrats controlling the weather.

You're probably wondering which genius came up with this conspiracy theory. Well, believe it or not, it comes from a sitting Congress member! Republican Marjorie Taylor Greene (I bet you believe it now).

Last week, she shared a map of the areas affected by Hurricane Helene overlaid with an electoral map.

Then, she shared another tweet, writing, "Yes they can control the weather."

She only wrote "they," but it's assumed she meant the Democrats/the government.

It became such a big topic of discussion that President Biden even shot down her theory on TV. "Marjorie Taylor Greene, the congresswoman from Georgia, is now saying the federal government is literally controlling the weather, we’re controlling the weather," he said. "It’s beyond ridiculous. It’s so stupid. It’s got to stop."

When she first shared her bright idea, people naturally made jokes about the absurdity of it all. And now that Hurricane Milton has caused so much damage, X (formerly called Twitter) is filled with people talking about the Democrats' supposed secret power.
