Elvira Fans Say She’s ‘Even Cooler’ After Sending Pointed Message to Elon Musk
Cassandra Peterson, who is known for her portrayal of the iconic character Elvira, impressed fans with her recent move that sent a bold message to controversial figure Elon Musk.
In a new video shared on social media, Peterson said goodbye to one of her possessions in a way that had fans calling her a "legend."
The clip began with Peterson standing in the street, decked out in a graphic t-shirt, blazer, jeans and a hat that read, "Make America Goth Again," while holding a chainsaw.
She glanced at a silver car near her and said, "Here goes my Elon Sux Mobile! I'm donating it to NPR." Behind her, text on the side of a Tesla, presumed to be her car, read "ELON SUX" in big letters. As Peterson gestured for the car to move forward, AC/DC's song "Highway to Hell" started playing as she yelled and lifted the chainsaw into the air.
Someone drove the car onto a tow truck before the actress gleefully waved goodbye and threw a middle finger up as it drove away, with visible text reading, "Bye ELON SUX Mobile!" She captioned the clip, "Just donated my Tesla to @npr …Bye bye Elon Sux-Mobile! ✌🏻."
Fans were in awe of Peterson after seeing the video, with a top-liked comment reading, "Always thought Elvira was so cool but Cassandra is even cooler."
"Donating to NPR?! Alright Cassandra! When so many celebs and politicians are failing us, thank you for being on the right side of history 🖤," said another as someone else declared, "She’s still helping us through the horrors of life…"
Many more cheered on Peterson's decision to donate her Tesla, with replies like, "Cassandra doing all the things that make her a legend," and "I didn't think I could possibly love Elvira more, but this proved I apparently can."
Peterson's latest move followed the trend of many other people boycotting Musk's company Tesla, with some selling off their vehicles or protesting in person with signs, among other things.
