Duffer Brothers Series ‘The Boroughs’ Adds Six to Cast, Including Ed Begley Jr., Jane Kaczmarek, Rafael Casal
The upcoming Netflix supernatural drama “The Boroughs” has added six new cast members.
Rafael Casal (“Loki,” “Blindspotting”), Dee Wallace (“E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial,” “Cujo”), Ed Begley Jr. (“Young Sheldon,” “Better Call Saul”), Jane Kaczmarek (“Malcom in the Middle,” “The Changeling”), Eric Edelstein (“Twin Peaks: The Return,” “Minx”), and Mousa Hussein Kraish (“American Gods,” “Your Lucky Day”) have all joined the show, which hails from creators Jeffrey Addiss and Will Matthews and boasts the Duffer brothers among its executive producers.

They join previously announced cast members Alfred Molina, Geena Davis, Alfre Woodard, Denis O’Hare, Clarke Peters, and Bill Pullman will all star in the eight-episode series, which was greenlit at the streamer back in April 2023.
The series’ logline states, “In a seemingly picturesque retirement community, a group of unlikely heroes must band together to stop an otherworldly threat from stealing the one thing they don’t have… time.”
Casal is repped by CAA, Brillstein Entertainment Partners, and Jackoway Austen Tyerman. Wallace is repped by Amsel Eisenstadt Frazier & Hinojosa Talent Agency and Kramer Management. Begley is repped by Innovative Artists and Constellation Media Group. Kaczmarek is repped by Paradigm. Edelstein is repped by TalentWorks, 3 Arts Entertainment, and Lichter Grossman. Kraish is repped by Artists & Representatives, Kaplan Stahler Agency, and Venture Entertainment Partners.
Addis and Matthews serve as executive producers and showrunners on “The Boroughs” in addition to creating it. The Duffers executive produce along with Hilary Leavitt under their Upside Down Pictures banner, which is currently under an overall deal with Netflix. Ben Taylor will direct multiple episodes and executive produce.
The Duffers are currently prepping the fifth and final season of “Stranger Things.” Among their other projects, it was announced in July that they will executive produce the Netflix horror series “Something Very Bad Is Going To Happen” From Haley Z. Boston
