The Duchess And Duke Show Off Their Princess To The World
Mere hours after giving birth, Kate Middleton stepped out with her brand new baby daughter alongside Prince William.
Dressed in a floral yellow and white Jenny Packham dress, a smiling Kate waved at the crowd but declined to comment.
After quickly showing the sleeping child to the public, the Royal couple set off to Kensington Palace, where they are expected to stay for at least one night along with their 21-month-old son, before they return to their home, Anmer Hall on the Sandringham Estate in Norfolk.
Their exit from the hospital follows a statement posted to the Kensington Palace Twitter account earlier today, in which they thanked people around the world for their messages of congratulations, as well as staff who helped deliver the princess.
The statement read: "Their Royal Highnesses would like to thank all staff at the hospital for the care and treatment they have all received. They would also like to thank everyone for their warm wishes."
The new Princess was born at 8:34am London time yesterday, and weighs 8lbs 3oz. There's no word yet on her name.
Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cambridge was safely delivered of a daughter at 8.34am.
