Speaking exclusively to PEOPLE at the fourth annual A Sense of Home Gala on Thursday, Oct. 24, at Netflix CEO Ted Sarandos’ house, the husband, 46, and wife, 39, spoke about their two-year-old son Parker’s reaction to his little sister Piper Rae, who was born on May 21, 2024.
Asked about the best part of expanding their family, Phan tells PEOPLE, “Oh, man. For me, it's seeing the siblings bond.”
“Yeah, seeing Parker as a big brother to Piper is pretty cool. At first he was a little unsure, and then now they seem like the best of buds,” Scott says.
“I mean, there are days when it's like, ‘Oh, I don't know, can we return her?’ " Phan laughs. "That's what he thinks, but they're going to be best friends now.”

She's only five months, but the look on her face when she just watches him is pretty sweet.
“Oh, her brother's the funniest thing in the world,” Phan tells PEOPLE.

“Girl dad life. So far, no different,” he says. “We have a toddler that's racing around. He's more work right now than a five-month old, but it's pretty amazing, yeah. We are tired. Do we look tired?”
Scott also spoke of how it felt for the couple to be involved in the gala event, which this year honored Shawn and Serena Levy's support of A Sense of Home, a charitable organization that "strives to prevent homelessness by creating first-ever homes and a community for youth aging out of foster care," per their website.
"I mean, any chance we can to be a part of an amazing group of people who are doing everything they can to give back, to make sure that everyone has that feeling of home and feel safe and secure at home, it means a lot to us," he says.
Scott and Phan announced in June that they had welcomed their second baby together.
Sharing a photo of the newborn’s hand and feet, Instagram caption on their joint post read, “Our family of 3 has become 4! Piper Rae, I love you with all my heart ❤️.”
The Property Brothers star also announced the news on the Drew and Jonathan website, which he shares with his brother and co-host Jonathan.
"I get a lot of mixed advice about being a girl dad,” he said. “Some people say that it’s the best thing, and others are warning me to look out. All I know is I am excited to experience whatever is to come with Piper.”
