Dr Dre shares update from hospital after brain aneurysm
Dr Dre has shared an update with his fans from hospital, after he was rushed to the ICU following a brain aneurysm.
The American rapper and producer revealed he was “doing great” in a post on Instagram. He was rushed by ambulance to Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles on Monday US time.
“Thanks to my family, friends and fans for their interest and well wishes,” the 55-year-old wrote alongside a black and white image of himself.
“I’m doing great and getting excellent care from my medical team.
“I will be out of the hospital and back home soon. Shout out to all the great medical professionals at Cedars. One Love!!”
The record producer and entrepreneur, whose full name is Andre Romelle Young, remained in hospital in a stable condition as doctors performed tests to determine the source of the bleed, TMZ reported.
Dr Dre is the founder and CEO of Aftermath Entertainment and Beats Electronics, and was previously co-owner of Death Row Records.
He has many friends in the music and rap scene, seen here celebrating Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson’s star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, alongside Eminem.
It didn’t take long for the positive news to spread.
LL Cool J was one of the first to reveal the legend was doing well, writing: “Dre is recovering nicely.”
In a slightly more shocking development, it’s been reported that four men attempted to break into Dr Dre’s house while he was in hospital.
According to TMZ, the men were on Dre's Pacific Palisades property around 2am Wednesday (US time), but were eventually confronted by security.
Police were called and the men were arrested for attempted burglary and are currently in custody.
