Yahoo Lifestyle Donations 'make a difference' for health patients
Donation points at hospitals in Lincolnshire are helping to fund a variety of facilities not covered by NHS budget, a charity has said.
United Lincolnshire Hospitals Charity said the money raised has been used to fund a sanctuary garden, two community diagnostic centres and scalp cooling systems for patients being treated for cancer.
The charity said "every penny" collected would be used to support the projects they were "proud to be involved in".
The collection points are at Lincoln, Boston and Grantham hospitals.
Ben Petts, the charity's manager, said: "We now have these amazing donation points where anyone can make a donation in cash, on their bank card or by using their phone."
Over the past 12 months, the charity said it had installed virtual sky panels in a maternity unit, purchased mobile phone charge banks for an emergency department and set up new community diagnostic centres in Skegness and Lincoln.
"Every donation really can help us to make a massive difference for patients, visitors and colleagues," Mr Petts said.
The donation points at Lincoln County Hospital and Pilgrim Hospital, Boston are just inside the main entrances, while the one at Grantham and District Hospital is in the outpatients department corridor.
