Don’t Miss the Wild and Crazy Japanese Duo that Won the Final Golden Buzzer on Season 19 of 'AGT'

Sofia Vergara had the final Golden Buzzer for Season 19 of America’s Got Talent, and she told host Terry Crews that she wouldn’t be forced into using it but would use it when something felt right. Well, that something right was two wild and crazy guys from Japan, who do a novelty comedy act that has to be seen to be believed.

The name of the act is Schumacher and the partners—Ryutaro "Ryu" Nakamura and Yuya Shimada—say they have been doing this act for 10 years but this is the first time it will be shown in America.

Then they got their two minutes to demonstrate their physical comedy and had everyone laughing and loving what they did.

“That was genius,” Simon Cowell told them. “It was really funny. Whose idea was this?”

Yuya answered, “It was our idea.”

Simon pointed out, “You can’t have had the same idea at the same moment,” to which Yuya answered “yes,” getting a big laugh from the audience.

His partner Ryu added, “The only talk we had was who was going to be on top when we did the giraffe.”

Then it was time for Sofia’s critique and she actually seemed bewildered. She asked, “What is it? Is it a dance? A puppet? Or a transformation, quick change? I don’t know because I’m very confused. I thought it was ridiculous. It’s nonsense. I really don’t know what it is, but I think you deserve this,” and she hit her Golden Buzzer, her second and the final one for the season.

Backstage, host Terry Crews asked her, “Why did you make this decision?”

Sofia answered truthfully, “I don’t know. That was the most fun thing we’ve had all day, all week.”

America’s Got Talent airs Tuesday nights at 8 p.m. ET/PT on NBC. Streams next day on Peacock.
