Dolly Parton’s Favorite Fast Food Burger Might Surprise You

She will always love it.

If there’s one thing I’ll forever believe, it’s that Dolly Parton is as down-to-earth as they come. Even after years of mega hits, countless Grammy Awards, an induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, and dozens of side projects—like her current stint as Allrecipes’ winter cover star with her sister Rachel Parton George—Parton seems to be as relatable as ever.

If you aren’t convinced, just remember she told us she can’t live without potatoes (same, Dolly)—further proven by the 10 potato recipes in her new cookbook, “Good Lookin’ Cookin’”—and she’s partially responsible for Taco Bell bringing back its Mexican Pizza because she was such a big fan.

As it turns out, Taco Bell isn’t the only drive-thru the “9 to 5” singer frequents. In fact, Parton has quite a few favorite fast food chains that she enjoys.

It doesn’t matter who you are, everyone has a favorite fast food burger. Super Bowl champ Patrick Mahomes chooses Whataburger, Michelin-starred chef Gordon Ramsay likes In-N-Out, and Oscar winner Emma Stone opts for McDonald’s. So, yes, even legendary Dolly Parton has a go-to burger joint for quick and easy meals.

Considering that Parton is from the South, you might expect the singer to follow in Texas-born Mahomes’ footsteps with Whataburger—or pick another Southern fave, like Cook Out. However, Parton’s favorite fast food burger comes from a national chain.

“I like those Whoppers at Burger King, that’s always been my favorite,” Parton told Today.

We get it, there’s just something about that quarter-pound flame-grilled patty topped with tomatoes, onions, lettuce, pickles, mayo, and ketchup on a toasted bun that keeps you coming back for more.

Parton and her love for BK’s famous burger is in pretty good company. The Kelce brothers, Travis and Jason, shared their appreciation for the Whopper on a 2023 episode of their podcast “New Heights,” calling it the best fast food burger. Travis’ second-place contender, In-N-Out, is also one of Parton’s favorites.

She enjoys the Animal-Style In-N-Out burger, she told Today, which she’ll soon get to eat in her home state of Tennessee as the fast food chain plans to open a location right outside of Nashville by 2026.

Parton didn’t stop at just her fave chain burger, either. The “Jolene” singer also told Today that she’s always loved an old-fashioned Krispy Kreme doughnut, which makes sense. Parton teamed up with Krispy Kreme earlier this year to release a line of limited-edition doughnuts modeled after Southern desserts.

Parton also shared that she and her goddaughter, singer Miley Cyrus, were known to frequent Cracker Barrel “before [Cyrus] got to having to stay so skinny all the time,” she said. While she didn’t disclose what the pair ordered there, we can only imagine that the two “country girls” enjoyed their fair share of tasty comfort food at the chain restaurant.

Since Parton has joined forces with two of her favorite fast food restaurants in the past, does that mean we might hear the Grammy Award winner belt out the “BK Have It Your Way” jingle during an NFL game soon? We sure hope so.
