The Doctor meets Chandra and begins an epic quest to get her back to Earth. But a mysterious force is stopping their return and the time-traveling TARDIS team must face great dangers, bigger enemies and wider terrors than ever before.
Sethu has joined the cast alongside Millie Gibson, who will continue playing companion Ruby Sunday and can also be seen in the trailer. Strictly Come Dancing winner Rose Ayling-Ellis has also boarded the next season.
The trailer comes as Christmas special Joy to the World wraps. The special starring Bridgerton’s Nicola Coughlan saw the opening of a secret doorway to a Time Hotel, unearthing a deadly plan across the Earth.
Season 2 of the regenerated Doctor Who is expected to air in a few months’ time. A decision will come at some point likely during that period over whether Disney chooses to continue investing in the show. Doctor Who is produced by Bad Wolf with BBC Studios for Disney Branded Television, BBC One and BBC iPlayer. Davies is showrunner and executive producer. Additional executive producers are Joel Collins, Phil Collinson, Julie Gardner and Jane Tranter.
