Just ahead of kickoff for Super Bowl 58 between the San Francisco 49ers and Kansas City Chiefs (airing on CBS), Marvel let fly with a teaser that led fans online to watch a trailer (above) for Deadpool & Wolverine, which until this point had been referred to as Deadpool 3.

Starring Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman as Deadpool/Wade Wilson and Wolverine/Logan, the third Deadpool film was originally penciled in for a May 3 release, which then got pushed back a bit to July 26.

The trailer above shows a birthday party for Reynolds’ Wade being interrupted by an unexpected visit from the TVA (Time Variance Authority), which recruits him to, as the oft-meta Deadpool puts it, change “your little cinematic universe… forever.”

Shawn Levy directed Deadpool & Wolverine off a script by franchise vets Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, with Reynolds himself also contributing. (Wendy Molyneux and Lizzie Molyneux-Logelin of Bob’s Burgers were originally tapped to pen the threequel, only to see Reese and Wernick got pulled back into the fold.)

Ahead of the trailer’s release, precious little was known about the Deadpool/Wolverine team-up, other than it takes place before the events of the 2017 Logan film and would involve some time travel.

Other confirmed cast include Deadpool vets Karan Soni, Leslie Uggams and Brianna Hildebrand once again playing cab driver Dopinder, Blind Al and Negasonic Teenage Warhead; Rob Delaney and Shioli Kutsuna reprising their Deadpool 2 roles as X-Force member Peter and mutant ninja Yukio; Jennifer Garner slipping back into her Elektra role from Ben Affleck’s 2003 Daredevil film (and her spinoff of same); and Marvel newcomers Emma Corrin (The Crown), as a villain, and Matthew Macfadyen (Succession) as a TVA agent.

Dogpool will also star, Reynolds revealed in November.

The new Deadpool movie wrapped filming on Jan. 24, Reynolds shared on Instagram, saying, “The [Deadpool] suit hides blood. Also sweat… But today, with Deadpool wrapping, it’s mostly tears. A giant and forever thanks to the cast and crew of our film who battled wind, rain, strikes and Hugh Jackman… all under the stalwart leadership of Shawn Levy. I got to make a movie with my closest pals and that doesn’t happen very often. See ya July 26th.”

Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes

Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, directed by Wes Ball and in theaters May 10, is set several generations in the future following Caesar’s reign, in which apes are the dominant species living harmoniously and humans have been reduced to living in the shadows. As a new tyrannical ape leader builds his empire, one young ape undertakes a harrowing journey that will cause him to question all that he has known about the past and to make choices that will define a future for apes and humans alike.

The cast includes Owen Teague (IT), Freya Allan (The Witcher), Kevin Durand (Locke & Key), Peter Macon (Shameless) and William H. Macy (Shameless).

Twisters

In theaters July 19, Twisters stars Daisy Edgar-Jones as Kate Cooper, a former storm chaser haunted by a devastating encounter with a tornado during her college years who now studies storm patterns on screens safely in New York City. When Kate is lured back to the open plains by her friend Javi (Anthony Ramos) to test a groundbreaking new tracking system, she crosses paths with Tyler Owens (Glen Powell), the charming and reckless social-media superstar who thrives on posting his storm-chasing adventures with his raucous crew, the more dangerous the better.

The cast also includes Brandon Perea (Nope), Sasha Lane (American Honey), Daryl McCormack (Peaky Blinders), Kiernan Shipka (Chilling Adventures of Sabrina), Nik Dodani (Atypical) and Maura Tierney (Beautiful Boy).
