Murphey appeared the TLC reality series in 2020. Cameras documented his trip to Ukraine, to to meet Lana, his girlfriend of seven years whom he’d never seen face-to-face. The pair became engaged but broke up before getting married.
Later, on an episode of the follow-up series 90 Day Diaries, Murphey explained that one of the stumbling blocks in their relationship was that Lana allegedly did not want to remove herself from the several dating sites she frequented, even after their engagement. Four months after the proposal, he said, they’d stopped talking.
