Danielle Colby Drops Urgent PSA to Fans: ‘We Have Work to Do'
American Pickers star Danielle Colby is warning fans that her current Instagram account could vanish at any moment—and letting them know where to find her from now on.
The reality TV personality took to Instagram on Tuesday, Jan. 21—the day after Donald Trump's inauguration—both to let her fans know that she has a new address on social media and to encourage them to support each other.
"Hi everybody, Danielle Colby from American Pickers here," she said in a video, speaking directly to the camera from what appeared to be a balcony on a windy day.
"Just wanted to say a few words of encouragement," she continued.
"First of all, should this page disappear, which it could, soon... go to @daniellecolbywashere. I'll also link up to that one too. Um, otherwise, you can follow my Patreon."
"Don't be down, don't be discouraged," Colby continued.
"This is what all of our great punk rock artists and punk rock songs prepared us for. This is the time, this is the day, this is the place. It is now, it is today," she added. "So, you know, this is an interesting opportunity for us to create some of the most outrageous art that we possibly can. This is a time for us to make statements, this is a time for us to band together, this is a time for us to check on our friends and family who need it the most."
Colby also advised against letting "tiny little divisions" get in the way of relationships—while pointing out that boundaries are also crucial during this time.
"Protect your mental health," she said. "If there are people within your stratosphere that are difficult or are toxic for you, stay away, man...Those people genuinely hate themselves and that's why they do what they do."
The burlesque performer addressed her fanbase directly, emphasizing the importance of "community."
Let's get out of our own heads, let's get a community going again, because the community is in need of some real serious TLC...so many people that I love...it's sad to see so many divisions right now."
"Let's get it the f--k together man. We have work to do. We have a patriarchy to smash," she added.
Although Colby didn't specifically name the POTUS in her recent post, she has spoken out against Trump in the past. On Nov. 6, 2024, she shared a message from activist Janaya Future Khan.
"Trump will win the White House. The GOP has control of the Senate," the quote read. "This is gutting yes, but freeing too. We get to make every day over the next four years hell for fascists, misogynists, bigots and liars. This is not the time to shrink. Nor time time to despair."
