Daniel Craig is campaigning for his next turn as detective Benoit Blanc to hit theaters for an extended time.

While Craig, 56, spoke with Variety about his upcoming movie Queer in an interview published on Monday, Nov. 4, he told the outlet that he believes Wake Up Dead Man should play in theaters for longer than one week before it releases on Netflix.

"Hopefully, Netflix will push it out a bit, and people will get to see it," the actor said. "The people I speak to — the fans, I suppose — all they want to do is take their families and go see it at the cinemas. That’s all they want to do. Hopefully we can give them that experience.”

Craig starred as private detective Blanc in 2019's Knives Out, which released in theaters, and in its 2022 sequel Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery, which released in theaters for one week before landing on the streaming platform.

The next Knives Out movie costars Craig with an entirely new cast, including Josh O'Connor, Cailee Spaeny, Andrew Scott, Kerry Washington, Glenn Close, Jeremy Renner, Mila Kunis and Josh Brolin. The film is the second of two sequels filmmaker Rian Johnson agreed to make for Netflix back in 2021.

Johnson, 50, confirmed the third film's title on May 24, when he shared a teaser clip to X; a voiceover in that clip described the upcoming movie as Blanc’s “most dangerous case yet.” On June 10, the filmmaker shared a first look photo of Craig sporting long hair in character as he announced filming on the movie had began. Johnson returned to X on Aug. 17, to announce the film had wrapped production.

"Went so fast! Best crew, incredible cast, this was a really special shoot and I cannot wait to put it together," he wrote in that post, along with a blurry photo of a cemetery and a sign that read, "Please be mindful of the graves."

The plot of Wake Up Dead Man has not yet been revealed. Brolin, 56, teased during a New York Comic-Con panel on Thursday, Oct. 17, that the third film in the series "felt more like the first one."

"I read it and I was just like, 'God, this is so well written. We just don't read things like this anymore,' " he said of receiving the film's script.

Queer releases in limited theaters on Nov. 27. Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery is expected to release on Netflix in 2025.
