Daniel Craig decided to clear things up when it came to his name pronunciation, providing a lesson to talk show host Stephen Colbert after he mispronounced "Craig" during six show appearances.

During Craig's latest visit to The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, the actor spoke a bit about his latest projects and life with his wife, fellow actor Rachel Weisz, before turning to Colbert and proclaiming, β€œI have a bone to pick with you."

Craig explained that Colbert mispronounced his last name in six shows and had the host say his name to catch the difference between two pronunciations, "Cregg" and "Crayg," with the latter the correct version.

"You don't hear the difference?" Craig asked, going through the lesson a couple of times as Colbert listened closely. After the talk show host understood the correct way to say the name, he said, "That is a subtle difference and I apologize."

"I don't want Daniel Craig made at me," Colbert said, before joking, "Daniel Cregg, f--k that guy. Daniel Craig, I'm so sorry, please accept my apology."

Craig started laughing loudly before shaking Colbert's hand. As a token of apology, Colbert told Craig that he was allowed to pronounce his last name with a heavy "t," unlike the French pronunciation that Colbert generally uses.

On social media, fans debated the pronunciation, some arguing that it's "not that subtle a difference," such as a fan who explained, "rhymes with vague, not with beg, it’s not that complicated πŸ˜‚."

Others had more difficulty, with another fan admitting that they "can't hear" the difference.
