WATCH: Dan Ewing spills on working with his ‘queen’ Kat Risteska

Home and Away star Dan Ewing has landed himself the starring role in the upcoming action/sci-fi movie Occupation, and even better he is working alongside his girlfriend Kat Risteska.

The actor revealed to Be that the director Luke Sparke “did the sneaky behind [his] back” when casting her. Watch Be's exclusive chat with the star above.

Dan thought that Luke was simply casting his girlfriend because he was already signed on, but he had actually seen her in another project, Skinford, and offered her the role of Chloe.

The 31-year-old gushed to Be about having his “queen” on set and joked that she now “gets to tell me what to do on and off set”.

Dan split from his wife Marni, whom with he shares two-year-old son Archer Grason, last year.

The actor plays Matt in the upcoming flick which follows a group of small-town residents who have to band together after a devastating ground invasion.

Filming for the movie is currently taking place in Queensland and northern New South Wales.

He has also been reunited with his Home and Away co-star and former on-screen girlfriend Rhiannon Fish.

The cast also includes Temeura Morrison, Stephany Jacobsen, Bruce Spence and Felix Williamson and the film is set for release next year.
