The highly anticipated series Daisy Jones & the Six premiered on Prime Video this month, and you should prepare for it to become your new obsession.
Based on the book of the same name by Taylor Jenkins Reid, the new streamer follows rockstar Daisy Jones and her bandmates during their rise to fame and subsequent breakup in the 1970s. Loosely inspired by the legendary real-life band Fleetwood Mac, Daisy Jones & the Six is not only a riveting drama filled with a love triangle and amazing music (the show even has an accompanying album), but it’s also our latest source of beauty inspiration.
And while all characters have their own unique sense of style and ’70s flare, Daisy Jones’ makeup look is definitely one to emulate. Riley Keough, the granddaughter of Elvis Presley, plays the titular role and portrays Daisy during the band’s formation and peak, as well as Daisy 20 years later when the band is being interviewed for a documentary. And while most things have changed, Daisy’s statement lip remains a constant.
Rebecca Wachtel is the makeup department head on the show and the mind behind the gorgeous beauty looks. Wachtel told Cat Quinn that for Daisy’s “strung out rock star” look at the peak of the band’s stardom, she used MAC Cosmetics’ lip pencil in the shade Brick. The brand describes the color as an “intense golden red.”
According to MAC, these pencils have a “smooth, creamy texture perfect for outlining lips or coloring them in.” No matter how you use them, if you’re after that sultry ’70s rocker glam, you’re definitely going to want to add these two pencils to your makeup bag.
