Dairy Queen Is Giving Away Free Ice Cream for a Year—Here’s How to Get It
Let’s get straight to the pint, friends. Some holidays are a cream cone true, and although it may not be a national one, Dairy Queen just announced a unique-to-them celebration that sounds like the cream of the crop—erhm, cherry on top? We’ve got to work on our pun game, but you get the pint. Jokes aside, Dairy Queen is gearing up to commemorate the first day of spring with a sweet celebration guaranteed to make you scream.

While spring may feel like it’s more than a few sundaes away, we’ve only got 10 days left before the buzzy, effervescent season is upon us, and Dairy Queen is kicking things off with “the sweetest holiday of the year.” That’s right, my cone-eating comrades, on March 20 everyone’s favorite ice cream parlor is giving away one free vanilla soft-serve cone per guest to welcome in the annual vernal equinox.
In addition to giving away free cones on the first day of spring, the Minnesota-based fast-food chain will also give one lucky fan a chance to win free cones for an entire year, which is equivalent to winning the lottery if you ask me. For your shot at a year's worth of free cones, all you have to do is download the DQ app and sign up for DQ Rewards between now and March 19.

Although Free Cone Day only comes around once a year and is relegated to their classic vanilla soft serve, Dairy Queen is just getting started. The fan-favorite ice cream shop has been busy beefing up their limited-time menu offerings with hits like the Crunchin’ Cookie Dipped Cone and the return of the Mint Oreo Blizzard with a flurry of new releases sure to be on the way.
In addition to Dairy Queen, Ben & Jerry’s will also be dishing out free cones this year on April 8. Now, that sounds like our idea of celebrating the season. Who do we talk to about making every day free cone day?
