Daily Show Poll: Who Should Take Over as Host of Comedy Central’s Late-Night Series? Cast Your Vote!

It’s crunch time for Comedy Central.

We’re coming up on a year since Trevor Noah stepped away from The Daily Show — and the cable network has yet to name his successor. A permanent host will not take his or her seat behind the desk until 2024, but a decision can’t be too far off.

Between January and October, 18 familiar faces were enlisted to fill the void left by Noah: Leslie Jones, Wanda Sykes, D.L. Hughley, Chelsea Handler, Sarah Silverman, Hasan Minhaj, Marlon Wayans, Kal Penn, Al Franken, John Leguizamo, Roy Wood Jr., Jordan Klepper, Desi Lydic, Dulce Sloan, Michael Kosta, Ronny Chieng, Desus Nice and Charlamagne tha God. Still to come: repeat turns by Silverman (week of Nov. 6) and Jones (week of Nov. 13), a Daily Show news team takeover (week of Nov. 20) and former correspondent Michelle Wolf (week of Nov. 27).

Minhaj, who at one time was considered the frontrunner, is reportedly out of the running after a damning New Yorker exposé revealed that he had embellished elements of his standup act. (You can watch his defense here.) Comedy Central’s search was further complicated in recent weeks by longtime correspondent Roy Wood Jr.’s decision to leave after eight years — though supposedly he’d still consider the gig, telling NPR, “If you’re offered the chance to host The Daily Show at any point in your life… you have to stop for a second and consider that.”

Before Comedy Central makes up its mind, we’d like to know who YOU think should replace Noah as host of The Daily Show. Review video of each guest host in action below, then vote in our poll and defend your choice in Comments.
