I-D Magazine Names Alex Kessler Deputy Editor
LONDON — As i-D Magazine gears up for its print relaunch this spring, the publication is very close to forming a full-time editorial team.
WWD has learned that Alex Kessler has been named deputy editor of the publication and will be working out of the London office.

He will report to i-D’s editor in chief and chief brand officer Thom Bettridge, who was named in September last year.
Kessler will be working on the magazine’s print and digital platforms alongside global editorial director Steff Yotka, who joined the title in November.
The trio all worked together at Ssense, the Canadian online retailer where Bettridge was vice president of creative and content; Yotka served as director of content, and Kessler was lead editor.
Prior to joining Ssense, Kessler was at Condé Nast, working on Vogue Runway and then at British Vogue, where he was fashion news editor. He left the position in June 2024.
Karlie Kloss, Bedford Media’s founder and chairwoman, acquired i-D Magazine from Vice Media in November 2023 and has since been reshuffling the magazine with new faces and a new look.
In February 2024, i-D Magazine paused its print publication and digital output for seven months and in the time being, the British bimonthly magazine launched a newsletter and continues to post across its social media channels on Instagram, TikTok and YouTube.
After a seven-month hiatus in September 2024, i-D Magazine came back online with Charli XCX and Troye Sivan on the homepage of its newly relaunched website.
The September 2024 digital cover also featured i-D Magazine’s winking logo inside a star shape, which the brand has been using on social media.
