While our famous Guinness Beef Stew and an on-theme cocktail will probably be the center of your St. Patrick’s Day meal, this Shamrock-Shaped Soda Bread will wow guests and kids alike. It’s made from common ingredients you likely have on hand (flour, butter, buttermilk, dried currant, and golden raisins, etc.); the only special tool you'll need is a 3 1/2-inch heart-shaped cookie cutter.

Use the heart-shaped cutter to cut out the dough and arrange it in a shamrock shape. Free hand the stem and voila–a sweet shamrock shaped quick bread. If you don't have a heart-shaped cookie cutter and don't feel like buying one, don't worry, you can cut the dough using a 3-inch round cookie cutter (you can also use an emptied and clean can if you don’t have a round cutter either). Once you have three circles cut out use a floured chefs knife to trim the edges of circles to make the bottom point of the heart shape. Use the tip of the chefs knife or a paring knife to cut out the notch from the top of the heart.

Once baked, serve with loads of softened butter and either tea, an Irish coffee, a Flat-White Martini with Vodka and Baileys. What could be a more delicious St. Patrick’s Day treat? Need ideas for decorating or crafting, we've got those, too! This is going to be the best St. Patrick's Day ever!
