CT Wildlife Sanctuary Delivers Most Unforgettable Encounters with Unique Animals

There are many wonderful things to do in the state of Connecticut. In the summer, you can enjoy the lovely shoreline with quaint towns like Mystic or ski on the many delightful slopes during the snowy winter. But an animal safari rarely comes to mind when considering the Nutmeg State.

In the northwest hills, however, you will find just that. With over 50 species of native and exotic animals, it’s the ideal way for animal lovers to enjoy a day.

They provide visitors with an interactive experience, offering many unique varieties of animals and various ways to observe them. Explore the park by car while feeding animals along the way, or take a hayride for a more personal experience. They also feature a petting zoo and a museum, ensuring a day of fun that’s also educational. The sanctuary is home to exotic animals, including Capybaras, Wildebeests, Zebras, and Camels, that you’re unlikely to see anywhere else in the state. You’ll also see bison, cows, goats, and many other friendly farm creatures.

Benefits of Animal Interactions with Children

According to the Children’s Museum of Southern Minnesota, spending time with animals has many positive benefits for children’s development. These interactions can teach empathy and respect, inspire children to read and learn more about the animals they have met, and lower stress levels. Taking kids to meet new animals is an opportunity to teach them to be quiet, calm, and gentle, which are indispensable tools to help them deal with all aspects of life.

Viewer @clintonorchards reported, “This is a must-see in a beautiful town!” With so much to do in this part of the state, it’s a great stop to make while taking in the fall foliage.

If you haven’t had a chance to vacation this year, this day trip may help you feel like you’ve spent some time away. It’s a great way to make memories and new four-legged friends.
