'The Crown' Will Recreate Kate Middleton's transparent Dress Moment (aka When Prince William Fell Hard)
Season 6 of The Crown is poised to drop sometime later this year, and will introduce us to Ed McVey and Meg Bellamy—aka a young Prince William and Kate Middleton. The show is expected to cover the early days of the couples' well-chronicled relationship, including how they met at school—and the time Wills watched Kate walk a fashion runway wearing nothing but a transparent dress and some underwear.
According to The Sun, producers from The Crown showed photos of Will and Kate's recreated runway walk meet-cute during the Edinburgh TV Festival. Tragically, the photos don't appear to have popped up anywhere just yet (and haven't been shared by Netflix), so guess we'll all just have to wait for The Crown.
Brief history lesson: While William and Kate fully knew each other before this fateful moment, Wills asked Kate out after seeing her walk the runway. According to royal reporter Katie Nicholl, William mused to his friend Fergus (iconic) “Wow, Fergus, Kate’s hot!” and proceeded to give Kate compliments at an after-party.
“He actually told her she was a knockout that night, which caused her to blush,” Nicholl said. “There was definitely chemistry between them and Kate had really made an impression on William. And at one point when William seemed to lean in to kiss her, she pulled away. She didn’t want to give off the wrong impression or make it too easy on Will.”
And the rest is royal history!
