Yahoo Lifestyle Craig Conover Spills on Paige DeSorbo Split: "We Didn't Want Different Things, She Wanted Other People"
Soooo, awkward update: Craig Conover showed up on Watch What Happens Live and kinda went off about his breakup with Paige DeSorbo, defending himself for not defending her amid cheating rumors, accusing her of lying, and saying she didn't "want different things, she wanted different people."
It was...a lot!
First of all, Craig's thoughts on the whole "he should have defended Paige from cheating rumors" narrative:
"I don’t want to be involved," he said. "I got broken up with. I’m the ex-boyfriend, now moving on with my life. I’m not going to get sucked into the mud with them. Her cast, like, commenting on how I am grieving and that I’m sorry that I’m not reading Reddit everyday, and getting on there and defending her. Like, I never said you cheated, so I’m not a part of this."
Craig also claimed that Paige "wanted different people" and that love is enough to make long distance work, it just didn't for them.
“It’s been a whirlwind, but I’ve been sitting in it, listening to people be like, ‘Love isn’t enough.’ Guess what? Love is enough and I hate that I’m being drug into that," he said. "If two people love each other, you’ll make it work. For all the long-distance people watching, like, we didn’t want different things, she just wanted other people and that’s fine. She didn’t want those things with me anymore and I’m not mad at her for that but I don’t like this ‘love isn’t enough’ thing because you’ll make it work.”
Meanwhile, Craig said their breakup wasn't mutual at all: "Paige lied on her podcast and said the breakup was mutual. I didn't tell her what to say. I got a text and she said, ‘I’m announcing it on my podcast.’ And then she said it was mutual, which it wasn’t, I didn’t know about it, she called me and told me.”
Craig ALSO denied lying about the breakup for a full month, saying he thought Paige wasn't serious when she called him to end things. "I thought she was having kinda a bad night or a breakdown," he said. "When she called and broke up with me, the last thing I was gonna do is the next day when I was being interviewed be like 'by the way Paige broke up with me.'"
He added, "I didn't think it was real. We had been together for three weeks, Andy. A week prior, two weeks prior, she asked me to plan us a trip to Europe for New Years. She also talked about our wedding in her mom's kitchen."
